Shayne Michael's Copyright Protection Script
This is a very subtle program that protects your material. If someone copys
the text the computer will automatically insert mispellings that weren't there
before. These mispellings add an extra vowel where it doesn't
belong at least two places within the selected text. If a competing site is stealing
your website's content, the number of and position of the mispellings
will allow you to build evidience quickly, and hold the violator responsible for the theft. In this
paragraph, if you try to select the text, three extra vowels will
appear within the blue italicized words. This script is exceptionally simple. If you use it, please create a link
back to where you found it. Even if that link is invisible and within the code itself. The
three parts of the script are shown below. The script works better on long documents. In shorter douments,
the copyright violator might notice the text changing. In very long documents it will be almost impossible
to notice the mispellings have appeared, if you don't add to many. If you win a multimillion dollar copyright
suit due to this script, you owe me a Coke.

The Scripts Weaknesses
I have noticed you have to pass a paragraph of headline tag
for the protect function to be called. This shouldn't be a problem
as it's meant for online books and articles. In all likelyhood,
these type of HTML documents would invoke the protection script 90%
of the time, if not more. One other piece of advice, if you use
this script, put people on notice that the material is copyrighted
and cannot be distributed without your permission. That way, if
you have to go after the violator you're more likely to win. Also,
when writing an article for LAugh Support about copyright protection, I
learned one critical fact, you can only sue if your material is
registered. If you don't, it's still yours but don't expect a court
to listen to you whine about a theif.
